I didn’t grow up as an endurance athlete.

If anything, I avoided running. I wasn’t good at it, and I used to blame it on asthma, but looking back, it was more a lack of discipline than anything else. I came from a footy background, so I was always active, but I never really pushed myself in that way.

Around 18, I started spending more time in the gym. At first, it came from a place of insecurity, like it does for a lot of people, but over time it became something more. It gave me structure, consistency, and a standard I began to hold myself to.

In 2023, I decided to train for my first marathon. At the time, I couldn’t run 8 km without stopping. It wasn’t something that came naturally to me, but that was the point. I wanted something hard, something that would force me to show up differently.

Since then, it’s been a constant progression. I’ve completed a full Ironman, multiple half Ironmans, and several marathons, and each one has pushed me to see what I’m capable of next.

Right now, I’m working towards a sub 2:45 marathon and a sub 10-hour Ironman. The training is high volume and demands consistency, but that’s what I enjoy about it.

I don’t see myself as the most talented athlete, but I hold myself to a high standard. If I’m going to do something, I do it properly. No shortcuts, no easy routes, just showing up, doing the work, and building something over time.
