Manu Taylor

Growing up, I was always the “bigger kid,” and for a long time I didn’t believe I could reach the level I’m at now with my training. Having struggled with being overweight for most of my life, it felt out of reach, but looking back it’s been a testament to consistency, resilience, and perseverance. My teens to mid-20s weren’t always on track, but those years taught me a lot and gave me perspective that now shapes how I approach my training.

At 24/25, everything changed. I went through a complete transformation, losing close to 30kg and becoming almost unrecognisable to people who knew me before. I committed fully to fitness, starting at Fitstop, progressing into a functional/CrossFit-style gym, and eventually stepping into Hyrox. Now 10 events deep, I’m fully committed to Hyrox as my sport. This year I’ve chosen to go all in, pushing my limits and seeing how far I can take it. It hasn’t been easy. Early mornings, tough sessions, and constant grind, but I’ve learned to embrace the process. My goal is simple: to become a successful Hyrox athlete and inspire others through the journey.
