  • Days 15-28: Repair + Rebuild

Continue with 1 serve of Gut Restore each day while gradually introducing more gut-friendly foods where tolerated. This phase focuses on supporting a healthy gut microbiome, healthy digestion and building sustainable habits for long-term gut health.

  • Beyond 28 Days: Support Your Gut, Your Way

Gut Restore is designed around this 4-week protocol but can also be used as part of your daily wellness routine. Alternatively, repeat the protocol whenever your gut could benefit from extra support - after travel, holidays, periods of indulgence or simply as a microbiome refresh.

HERO INGREDIENTS

1 2 3 4

1. Sunfiber® PHGG

A clinically researched prebiotic fibre that nourishes beneficial gut bacteria while supporting digestive health, healthy bowel function and microbiome balance.

2. LactoSpore®

A clinically researched probiotic that helps maintain a healthy gut microbiome and supports digestive health.

3. CoreBiome®

A premium postbiotic that helps support gut barrier health, digestive function and overall gut wellbeing.

4. DigeZyme®

A comprehensive digestive enzyme blend that helps your body break down food more efficiently to support comfortable digestion.

1. What is Gut Restore?

A daily gut formula built around four key areas:

↳ Reduce bloating and discomfort (Ginger, Globe Artichoke, Fennel, DigeZyme® enzymes)

↳ Repair the gut lining (Glutamine, Marshmallow Root, Liquorice Root, Tributyrin, Zinc)

↳ Rebuild your microbiome (Sunfiber® PHGG, Baobab, Kiwi Fruit Powder plus a triple-strain probiotic)

↳ Restore healthy digestion all in one daily scoop

2. How do I take it, and how much?

Day 1 – 14: Take 1 scoop (approx. 5.3 g) twice daily with 250-300ml water. One in the morning before breakfast, one in the evening before dinner.

Day 15 – 30: Take 1 scoop (approx. 5.3 g) once daily with 250-300ml water in the morning before breakfast.

3. Why might I notice some gas or fullness in the first few days?

When increasing dietary fibre intake, including from prebiotic fibres like PHGG, it's common to notice some temporary gas or fullness while gut bacteria adjust. This is a normal response to increased fibre intake and generally settles within a week or two for most people.

The fibre in Gut Restore is certified low FODMAP, which means it should ferment slowly and these symptoms should be minimal and short lived if at all. Starting with a smaller amount and building up gradually, along with drinking enough water, can help. As always, if you have ongoing concerns, speak with your healthcare professional.

4. What if I get bad stomach cramps?

If symptoms are severe, immediately stop the product and consult with your healthcare professional. This may be because of bacterial die off. When you introduce good bacteria, they can compete and kill off bad bacteria. This results in the release of toxins and gas, that if it happens too quickly, may cause the above symptoms.

5. How long before I notice a difference?

This varies from person to person, depending on overall diet and lifestyle. Gut Restore is intended to be used consistently as part of your daily routine alongside a varied and balanced diet, individual results will vary. However, some people notice immediate results, while others it may take a week to a month. The key is consistency and trying to adhere to the recommended 28 day plan.

6. Can I take Gut Restore alongside other Switch Nutrition products?

Yes, Gut Restore can be taken alongside your existing supplement routine. In fact, if you optimise your gut health, you will optimise your nutrient uptake, including other supplements. If you take prescription medication or have a diagnosed health condition, check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding any new supplement to your routine.

7. Is Gut Restore suitable for children?

Gut Restore has been formulated and dosed for adults. We don't provide dosing guidance for children under 15. If you'd like to use it for a younger family member, please consult a healthcare professional first.

8. Can I take this while pregnant or breastfeeding?

As with any dietary supplement, we recommend checking with your doctor or healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

9. Does it need to be refrigerated?

No, store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, with the lid sealed tightly after use. The probiotics are shelf stable.

10. Can I add it to hot drinks, cooking, or baking?

We recommend mixing into cold or room-temperature water and smoothies, rather than hot liquids, as heat may affect the enzyme and probiotic content.

11. What does Gut Restore taste like, and how do I mix it?

Mango Pineapple and Cloudy Apple flavour are lightly flavoured and sweetened and taste like fruit juice when mixed in water. Natural has a very mild lemon and liquorice flavour. It can be mixed in cool water or other fruity beverages or smoothies.

12. Is Gut Restore low-FODMAP?

Yes. Gut Restore has undergone FODMAP testing and certification at Monash University.

13. What is FODMAP and why is it important?

FODMAPs are short-chain carbs (found in things like wheat, onion, garlic and some fruits) that are poorly absorbed and get fermented by gut bacteria, causing gas and bloating in sensitive people. The low-FODMAP diet, developed by Monash University, helps identify which carbs trigger symptoms for you. It matters in Gut Restore because not all prebiotic fibres are equal, some are gentler on sensitive guts than others. We are trying to help reduce bloating not make it worse. That is why we made sure it was FODMAP certified.

14. What's in each part of the formula?

Gut lining ingredients: Glutamine, Marshmallow Root, Liquorice Root, Tributyrin and Zinc, ingredients commonly included in gut-support formulations.

Fibre + probiotics: Sunfiber® PHGG, Baobab and Kiwi Fruit Powder (prebiotic fibres) plus three carefully selected probiotic strains (Bacillus coagulans MTCC 5856, Saccharomyces boulardii, Bifidobacterium lactis HN019).

Digestion support: Sunflower Lecithin, Ginger, Globe Artichoke, Fennel, and DigeZyme® digestive enzymes.

15. Why does Gut Restore contain digestive enzymes as well as fibre and probiotics?

Each group of ingredients plays a different role in a daily routine. Digestive enzymes (amylase, cellulase, lipase, lactase, protease) are naturally involved in the breakdown of carbohydrates, fats and proteins from food. Prebiotic fibres provide a food source for gut bacteria. Probiotic strains contribute live cultures to the diet. Combining these in one formula is intended to simplify a routine that would otherwise require several separate products.

16. Is Gut Restore vegan / dairy-free / gluten-free?

Gut restore is made with gluten free, dairy free and vegan friendly ingredients. However, it is manufactured in a facility that also manufactures gluten and dairy containing ingredients. While we follow allergen prevention processes, we cannot guarantee the finished product is gluten and dairy free.

17. What's the difference between probiotic, prebiotic and postbiotic?

Probiotics are live beneficial bacteria. Prebiotics are the fibres that feed the live beneficial bacteria. Postbiotics are the beneficial by-products the probiotic bacteria create when they ferment those prebiotic fibres, like short-chain fatty acids such as butyrate. Think seeds, fertiliser, and harvest: each plays a different role in a healthy gut microbiome.

18. How long will one tub last me?

If following the correct 28-Day Gut Restore Protocol, your initial tub will last 2 weeks (at 2 scoops per day). For the second phase of the protocol (and ongoing), at 1 scoop per day, your tub will last 30 days.

19. I take prescription medication or have a diagnosed health condition; can I still take this?

Speak with your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new supplement if you take prescription medication or have a diagnosed health condition, to check it's appropriate for your circumstances.

20. Does Gut Restore contain any sugar?

Gut Restore contains less than 0.3 g of sugar per serve and less than 11.3 calories per serve. It is packed with beneficial nutrients without any unnecessary sugars or fillers.

21. Is Gut Restore naturally sweetened?

Yes. All Switch Nutrition’s flavoured and sweetened products are naturally sweetened.

22. Can I take Gut Restore every day long-term?

Yes. Gut Restore is designed to be suitable for daily use as part of a healthy lifestyle. While the recommended 28-day protocol is a great starting point, many people choose to continue with one scoop daily as part of their long-term gut health routine.

23. Can I take Gut Restore on an empty stomach?

Yes. We recommend taking Gut Restore before meals, ideally on an empty stomach, as outlined in the directions. However, if you have a sensitive stomach, it can also be taken with food.

24. Can I take Gut Restore with antibiotics?

If you're taking antibiotics, it's generally best to separate Gut Restore by at least 2-3 hours to help maximise the survival of the probiotic strains. You can also continue taking Gut Restore after finishing your antibiotic course to help support your gut microbiome.

25. Should I stop taking my probiotic if I'm using Gut Restore?

For most people, Gut Restore provides a comprehensive combination of prebiotic fibre and three clinically researched probiotic strains, so an additional probiotic usually isn't necessary. If you're currently taking a probiotic recommended by your healthcare practitioner, continue following their advice.

26. Can I take Gut Restore with collagen or protein?

Absolutely. Gut Restore can be taken alongside collagen, protein powders and most other nutritional supplements. Many people simply mix them separately or take them at different times for convenience.

27. Can I take Gut Restore if I have IBS?

Many of the ingredients in Gut Restore, including Sunfiber® PHGG, have been selected because they are gentle on the digestive system, and the formula has been certified Low FODMAP by Monash University. However, IBS symptoms vary greatly between individuals, so if you have a diagnosed gastrointestinal condition, it's best to speak with your healthcare professional before use.

28. Why does Gut Restore contain Tributyrin instead of butyrate?

Tributyrin is a specialised form that delivers butyrate further into the digestive tract than standard butyrate salts. It also avoids the strong odour commonly associated with butyrate supplements while providing a more stable source of butyrate.

29. Does Gut Restore help with constipation?

Healthy digestive function is influenced by many factors including diet, hydration and physical activity. Gut Restore contains prebiotic fibres, kiwi fruit powder and probiotics that support digestive health and regular bowel function as part of a healthy diet. Individual results will vary.

30. Will Gut Restore help with diarrhoea?

Digestive symptoms can have many causes. Gut Restore contains ingredients commonly used to support gut health and digestive function, but it is not intended to treat gastrointestinal illness. If diarrhoea is persistent or severe, seek advice from your healthcare professional.

31. Why doesn't Gut Restore contain huge amounts of probiotics?

More isn't always better. The effectiveness of a probiotic depends on the specific strains used and whether they've been clinically studied, not simply the total CFU count. Gut Restore focuses on clinically researched strains combined with prebiotic fibre and postbiotic to help support a healthy gut microbiome.

32. Can I take Gut Restore if I have coeliac disease?

The ingredients used in Gut Restore are gluten free. However, it is manufactured in a facility that also handles gluten-containing ingredients. If you have coeliac disease or a medically diagnosed gluten allergy, consult your healthcare professional if you have concerns regarding trace allergen exposure.

33. Why is Gut Restore a powder instead of capsules?

A therapeutic amount of prebiotic fibre, glutamine and other functional ingredients simply wouldn't fit into a practical number of capsules. Using a powder allows us to include clinically meaningful doses in a convenient once- or twice-daily serve.

34. What makes Gut Restore different from a standard probiotic?

Most probiotics focus only on adding beneficial bacteria. Gut Restore combines digestive enzymes, gut lining nutrients, prebiotic fibres and clinically researched probiotic strains in one formula, providing support across multiple aspects of digestive health rather than relying on probiotics alone.

35. Do I need to change my diet while taking Gut Restore?

No special diet is required. However, Gut Restore works best alongside a varied, balanced diet that includes plenty of whole foods, adequate water intake and healthy lifestyle habits. We have designed a 28-day plan that might help guide you on the best lifestyle habits. For more specific dietary advise please contact a certified dietitian or nutritionist.
